| Abstract | The paper compares the top ranked world universities with the Indian universities and tries to explore the reasons behind the success of the top ranked universities. It tries to explore the various factors and the influence they have on rankings. The paper tries to prioritize the various factors influencing the world university rankings. This paper aims to suggest some important measures institutions can undertake to improve their rankings on a global level. It tries to predict the world ranking of a particular university based on certain factors which will save cost and thus provide a good cost-benefit analysis. |
